Moorer fought a total of 57 times during his professional career, which includes 17 world-title fights at two weight divisions — heavyweight and light-heavyweight. He was among the very best of his generation and was known for his great performances in his fights. These seven fights are the highlight of his career.

  • December 3, 1988: Moorer wins his first world title by defeating Ramzi Hassan via 5th round TKO. He is now the WBO light-heavyweight world champion.

  • January 14, 1989: Moorer successfully defends the WBO light-heavyweight title against Victor Claudio, winning the fight via 2nd round TKO.

  • April 22, 1989: Moorer successfully defends the WBO light-heavyweight title against Freddie Delgado, winning the fight via 1st round TKO.

  • November 16, 1989: Moorer successfully defends the WBO light-heavyweight title against Jeff Thompson, winning the fight via 1st round KO.

  • April 28, 1990: Moorer successfully defends the WBO light-heavyweight title against Mario Oscar Melo, winning the fight via 1st round KO.

  • April 22, 1994: Moorer becomes a unified heavyweight world champion by beating Evander Holyfield via 12 round majority decision. He now holds the WBA and IBF heavyweight world-champion belts.

  • December 9, 2004: Michael Moorer beats Vassiliy Jirov via 9th round TKO.
